Building a List:

There is an expression in Internet Marketing circles that says "The money is in the list", and I am yet to find anyone to contradict this statement. The simple fact of the matter is, there’s no better way to virtually guarantee your success than by building a loyal, targeted database of email subscribers.

Once you have a mailing list its yours for keeps! Loyal subscribers can stay with you for years.

For most businesses, you can quickly see a dramatic turn in sales in a very short period of time by building a list. Once you have built a list of email subscribers you are then in a commanding position to take control of your niche  and build a strong customer base who are eager to receive information about your product offerings and buy from you regularly.  Some Internet Marketers claim that each subscriber is worth $1 a month to them, so a list of 20,000 subscribers is worth $20,000 a month, something to think about!

Once you have built a mailing list you can do anything from the following and more:

  • You can offer your own products.
  • You can offer other peoples products and services.
  • You can form joint ventures and cross promote products and services with other Internet Marketers.
  • You can continue building your list and diversify into other market niches.

On the internet, the biggest hurdle I see with Internet Marketing is what I call the "credibility gap". The credibility gap exists because of the simple lack of trust that initially exists when you encounter someone on the internet making an offer. The credibility gap exists in all mediums but is far more pronounced on the internet. With a so called "bricks and mortar" business you can see that they have invested money in having a physical presence, and they have a service department and have real people behind it. The same can't be said for internet businesses. So in order to overcome this initial credibility gap you need to build a relationship with prospective clients in order to build trust and credibility. Having a mailing list can help overcome this credibility gap.

By large I mean in the tens or even hundreds of thousands. Of course the first question is "How do I build a list, FAST?".

From what I have seen most successful internet marketers build mailling lists targetted for specific niches, these are the most responsive and most valuable to you as an internet marketer.
